Key and Urgent Projects

Proposed Storage & Distribution Facility, Fiji

To create a safe storage and warehousing of goods and aid equipment sent to Fiji for distribution is paramount for us. VCF is assisting Ramakrishna Mission Fiji to construct a Relief Storage & Distribution Facility at Mololo, Nadi, in Fiji. It will be a dedicated storage facility to improve efficiency, provide cost savings, enhance capacity, and the provide the ability to respond effectively to community needs.

Labasa Community Health & Mobility Support

VCF, in collaboration with the Ramakrishna Mission Fiji, is urgently placing mobility aids, medical devices, and essential supplies into the hands of sick, aged, and disabled community members in Labasa and across Vanua Levu. The project focuses on collecting and delivering beds, wheelchairs, crutches, walkers, and other disability aids to families caring for those in need of comfort and mobility. Working closely with local healthcare workers and volunteers, this joint initiative ensures that support reaches the most vulnerable individuals identified through community health networks.

Masks & Wound Care Supplies

Fiji’s medical teams place wound management high on the list of essential healthcare.

Up to 3 out of 4 Fijians are suspected as having diabetes, an illnesses associated with slow healing, and if wounds are untreated, limb amputations. However, Fiji’s outlying community health services are resource-poor with little or no access to wound dressings

Operating Theatre & Surgical Equipment

VCF is urgently working with Labasa Hospital, a remote medical centre in Fiji, to deliver advanced surgical devices and state-of-the-art operating theatre equipment. This initiative includes continuous clinical and technical training to ensure sustainable use and long-term support. VCF is currently seeking donors to help fund the supply of this life-saving equipment, which will significantly strengthen surgical care for patients across the region.

Expanding Labasa Dialysis Hub – Lifesaving Units

Fiji faces a serious kidney health crisis, with an estimated 14% of the population affected by kidney disease and hundreds of new cases of kidney failure emerging each year. The condition is life-threatening and calls for urgent medical intervention. To respond, VCF has sourced multiple modern dialysis units and supplies for shipment, supporting the expansion of the Labasa Dialysis Hub, which is under mounting pressure to serve more patients across Vanua Levu. With donor support, these lifesaving units can be safely delivered and installed to strengthen kidney care in Fiji’s remote northern region

Support for Nadi District

The 80-bed Nadi Hospital is supporting 5 referral nursing stations and 3 health centres – and all require ongoing medical equipment and supplies for optimum operation.

The district is in need of life saving equipment to help it service its busy Out Patients; eye, dental radiology and scan departments, as well as its district community services. VCF is currently working on sourcing these items to assist.
